This malware was involved in a zero-day Java vulnerability exploit attack in January 2013. Its backdoor routines allow remote attackers to perform commands on the affected system, which may compromise the system's security.

This backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

This backdoor opens a reverse shell to wait for commands from the remote malicious user.
It is a modified version of SSH daemon used to encrypt the network traffic to avoid easy detection. It encrypts the traffic with the remote server using RSA private key. This version is also modified so that the command history is not to be logged.
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as OSX_PINTSIZED.ENV. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
